The Cause
for the rebuilding of Bandoumkassa-Bakotcha
Today, the ancestral kingdom of Bandoumkassa-Bakotcha, in the Bamileke land of Haut-Nkam in Cameroon, has not a single house left standing. The community descended from Ancestor Zeu Cheu Pieco must be raised back up — not only spiritually, but materially.
All royalties from the sale of The Takunga, in all four languages and all formats (paperback, Kindle, forthcoming audiobook), are dedicated to this rebuilding. For every book purchased, approximately €9.40 goes to the cause.
The first steps
- Year 1 (2027) — rebuilding of 2 to 3 houses in permanent materials (estimated cost: 15-20 million FCFA / house, about €22,900–30,500 / $26,000–35,000).
- Year 2 (2028) — building a community house for gatherings.
- Year 3 (2029) — progressive restoration of the sacred place and the paths.
Transparency
The funds are received and redistributed by You & We — The Messengers of Hope, a recognized 501(c)(3) charitable organization (EIN 88-1712396). Accounts will be published regularly, with before/after photos and audited invoices.
